My philosophy is to follow the student. To begin with I like to have an individual discussion with each student to find out what interests them and what artistic goals they may have. We would then begin to research around their ideas. Usually but not always we would begin with the drawing process then branch out to either Painting, Mixed media or Sculpture.
I have been running art courses part time from my studio since the beginning of 2007 while running my own art practice. I take students from the age of nine up through to adults and they can begin at any time throughout the year and from any level of ability. I have up to eight students in each class and can also teach one-on-one.
I enjoy teaching -
Drawing - Traditional and contemporary, character development, cartoons, book illustration, life drawing,
perspective drawing, observational drawing, portraiture, etc.
Painting - Acrylic, Oils, Watercolour and Mixed media
Sculpture - Clay and mixed media.
Research - using a visual diary to gather together - reference images, ideas, info, sketches, your own photos, poems, words, observational drawings, Plein air studies, colour experiments, etc....
I also help college students with their Art Boards and to gather work for University Art Portfolios.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers
Megan
