Experiences
I have taught at various New Zealand Secondary Schools over the past five years and am currently having a break from full-time teaching to focus on starting a family. I have experience teaching Year 9 - 13 in a variety of subject areas, including English and Media Studies (up to NCEA Level 3) and Social Sciences (up to NCEA Level 1).
About
My teaching approach is focused on making students have fun and enjoy the subject they are learning. I do this by building relationships and getting to know the students passions and interests and incorporating these into my lesson plans. I find that if the student has fun learning a skill, they will be more likely to remember that skill in the long run!
My passions include reading for pleasure, creative writing, poetry, photography, jewellery making, and geography/geology.
