Hi! My name is Nikita Rodgers. I'm an undergraduate at the University of Auckland striving towards a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biology. With this degree I aim to study neurology. I've been tutoring intermittently for 2 years and am passionate about helping students of all ages reach a stage where they enjoy learning and are confident in their competence. I enjoy writing, reading, horse-riding, swimming, and of course, teaching and learning.
I have achieved up to NCEA Level 3 with Merit Endorsement, with my NCEA Level 1 reaching Excellence endorsement. I have received a Scholarship in Biology and am completing my Bachelor's degree with a GPA that varies between 7 and 9. I have a very good understanding of Primary School teaching having helped out at my old primary school on occasion.
In a non-educational context, I have a full Class 1 NZ driver's license.
I have 2 years experience teaching a few students at Year 5, 9, 10 and 11 in Maths, General Science, English, Biology, and Media Studies.
I am passionate about all things science! I am extremely interested in the psychology behind learning, and hope to one day use my degree to improve the education system so that it caters to all students and all learning styles. I also enjoy writing, editing, and working with animals - I live on a farm with cats, dogs, horses and sheep!
