My primary aim is to assist my students in achieving their personal academic goals. I understand that every student is at a different stage in their learning and has different requirements for their tutorials. I try to run my tutorials in a way that doesn't feel like another school lesson but rather in a way that is comfortable for the student to encourage learning in a way that their regular school lessons may not be doing.
I passed NCEA levels 1, 2 and 3 with an excellence endorsement at all 3 levels.
In my final year of high school, I tutored year 7-12 students in their schoolwork across all of the subjects which I tutor. This not only improved my knowledge of the New Zealand secondary school curriculum, but also improved my patience, time management, and communication skills. I have also worked with two different tutoring organisations for NCEA levels 1, 2, and 3.
Hi, my name is Andrew, and I tutor Physics, Chemistry, Music, Maths, Statistics, and Calculus. I am a third-year student at the University of Canterbury studying towards a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Astronomy. My love for these subjects took me as far as the US when I, and three other kiwi students, attended an International Space Camp in 2019.
I graduated from Scots College in 2019 with Excellence endorsements in all 3 levels of NCEA. In my final year, I earned the second-best results at my school, receiving first-in-subject awards in Chemistry and Music and second in Calculus and English. Alongside this, I achieved NZQA scholarship exams in Statistics, Physics, and Chemistry in Year 13.
Outside of academics, I was a keen sportsman in high school, particularly in cricket, where I played for the 1st XI, but as well as rugby, handball, and water polo. I am also very passionate about music, playing both the piano and alto saxophone, for which I have completed Grade 8 Trinity exams, in the school orchestra and jazz bands.
