I am a full time maths and physics teacher at a high school in Washington State, on leave for one year to live in New Zealand with my family. In a tutoring session I am happy to provide homework help and answer any questions you may have about any math or physics topic, from the most basic to advanced topics including 100 level University courses. If you need me to put together a lesson, tailored to your needs, on any topic, I can provide that too.
Your first lesson is free and intended to establish exactly what your needs are so that I can be prepared for future lessons.
My rates for a one hour lesson in the Mount Maunganui area are $40 for one student, $50 for two, $60 for three and $70 for four or more students working on the same topic. A travel fee can be negotiated for lessons further away.
I earned a Bachelors Degree in Physics and Mathematics Secondary Education from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, USA.
I also earned and Masters Degrees in Science (Physics) Education from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, USA.
I hold a Continuing Teaching Certificate, Washington State. Issued December 2005 Endorsements: Physics grades 4-12 and Mathematics grades 4-12.
Previously I was certified as an Expert Teacher, Victorian Institute of Teaching. May 13th 2008.
While working on my Bachelors degree I worked in the university tutorial center tutoring other university students in maths and physics. Since graduating, I have 22 years of high school teaching experience in Australia and the US. I have taught Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, Probability, Vectors, Calculus and more. I have also taught Physics and Astronomy covering all topics from basic physical science up to 100 level university courses.
I enjoy mountain biking, surfing and snowboarding.
